DAVENPORT ? Dorothy Mae Collier, 82, of Davenport, died Saturday, September 6, 2009, at Heartland Health Care in Moline. Funeral services will be Thursday September 10, at 1 p.m. at The Runge Mortuary. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island.
Dorothy was born October 2, 1926, in Davenport, the daughter of Cecil and Lenore (Gallagher) Hagan. She was united in marriage to Andrew Collier on July 30, 1945, in San Diego, Calif. She received her Bachelor?s and Master?s degrees from the University of Iowa.
Dorothy worked for Ruhl & Ruhl Realty, Winters Heating Company, Collins Radio, Altorfer, and the Cedar Rapids Police Department. She retired after many years of teaching at Washington School in Muscatine.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Andrew, Davenport; sons, Ken (Becky) Collier, Cedar Rapids, and Steve, Davenport; daughter, Linda (Daniel) Rohse, Princeton, Ill.; sisters, Mary Smith, Davenport, Betty Fangmann, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Margie Dimmick, San Angelo, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her parents and a sister, Shirley Baker, preceded her in death.
