Dr. John Fitzgerald's son, Jack Fitzgerald, married a daughter of Sam Scott. Dr. Fitzgerald's diploma from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, was found a few years ago in the walls of this old house.

On Nov 12th, 1723, John Peterson sold land in Prince George County to John Fitzgerald which included 60 acres as by deed Oct. 11th, 1703, from Henry Batte to John Peterson, the fee-offer, which said land descended to sd. Henry Batte as heir at law to his father Henry Batte.
